Since Ace Combat 7 is now another year away. I'm considering playing some infinity again. So far, I haven't spent a dollar on it. How much did you guys spend on it to have fun and get the planes you wanted. I just want my F-22.

What we should buy with medals now?
I only spent once on a single fuel, testing if online shopping with PSN actually works or not.
about those coins, I can't suggest anything at all because it absolutely depends on your needs and desires. However, if you need a fighter one of the Mobius Raptors or Typhoons are decent. For me long time ago, I bought F-22A Mobius4 with some coins I hard-earned through tourneys. it's not the best aircraft you can get with 20 coins but hell I'm glad I bought it back then. Still my best fighter aircraft and it's now at lvl 7.
For a cheap and effective multirole strike fighter for air-to-ground operations such as Moscow Battle or Paris Liberation War, try purchasing the F-15 S/MTD -Stripes- that costs 8 medals. It has FAEB to clear out tightly-clustered targets.
Don't think of bringing it to Aerospace Center Defense. It doesn't have anti-surface missiles to take out ships at long-range.
@Stealth yeah after reading each option for the 20 coins carefully I ended up going with the Mobius 4. Somehow I have 17 of those bad boys still waiting for me. And I may get some more. Im in the top 1000 in the ranking. I also bought a pixy morgan. Not feeling it atm. But im considering the F-15 S/mtd, the Su-37 or an F-35 for the air to ground game.
well, as I did say, that's not the best fighter out there that you can buy, but it's your decision anyway and it's one the cheapest special F-22A(only 3 coins needed to buy it and cheaper to upgrade than other Mobius F-22A at least). may you enjoy your time with it.
if you like Flankers, go for Su-37, if you want stealth feature(doesn't really work at all) go for F-35, but many people has the SMTD for getting some insane high scores. I totally can't suggest any since I'm not fond of air to ground. Pit. Pao Ayo could offer some more insight than me in this case... in ANY case actually
@Stealth. Yeah after getting accustom to the game. The biggest issue in the game is part slots. So far the only aircraft I have found statistically versatile has been the X-02 Knight. 6AAMs and 4 AGMs. Combine that with the fact it has nearly double available 36 at level 1 part slots and its almost OP. So I won't be buying anything after I acquire it. Unless someone knows a plane that can be an F14 an F 18 and an F 22 at the same time.
someone did say(was it Sly?) that "having X-02 doesn't make you a better pilot". my recommendation is to use normal aircraft more than special aircraft. besides, upgrading special aircraft are insanely expensive
Not worried about being a better pilot. I'm not new to Ace Combat at all. I just ignored Infinity. Im already ranked 204 in the latest tourney. I mentioned the X-02 Knight because I can use it in A2A or A2G. I'm the type of person who wants to keep the planes I use to the absolute minimum. I'm not the experiment with this and that kind of guy. The planes with high damage weapons like the FAEB are cool but have limited ammo. To get high scores in this game you need to just keep shooting everything. So with that in mind. X-02 Knight has 6 AAM and 4 AGMs. So while welding that jet I can literally dominate any map type in the game with only two sets. Since unlocking the standard X-02 I also found out in has great low speed stability so it can even keep up with high level pistons.
An aspect of Infinity you're forgetting about is that aircraft with internal weapons bays have a delay in firing guided weapons. Yes, the X-02 -Knight- has 6AAMs and 4AGMs, but it also has a weapon bay delay that may make the difference in some scenarios for you. Aircraft with hardpoints don't have that problem.
I have said that having the best aircraft in the game doesn't make you a better pilot. Even if you get the X-02 -Knight-, you still need to pay attention to what you're doing, and not screw over your teammates and use the aircraft to its full potential.
@Sly Actually believe it or not. The only reason why I even want to use the X-02 knight is because of the weapons delay in the F-22. Infinity is a keep firing everything kind of game. So how I have been playing is basically to engage the closest enemy fire short range missiles, then immediately switch to secondaries and engage the next lockable target. By the time I switch back to primary weapons its already ready to shoot again. Using that technique I rarely see the missile delay. Unless its a special target that I know wont track easy. With the X-02 knight It will allow me to maintain pressure on either A2A or A2G depending on the mission. I can fire the close range volley of 2 missiles. Switch to 4 Agms murder 4 targets. Switch back to close range rinse and repeat. X-02 Knight with the weapons enhancement plan L will nearly eliminate delay while playing like that. Granted, I dont have the jet yet and without knowing if there are any specific nerfs to the jet my play style and its stats should make it easy for me. My perfect jet of choice would be any F 22 with a GPB but the closest to that is the scarface 1. And statistically the Knight is still better. So yeah thats my mind after staring at the tree front and back for hours and taking notes lol
