Can it be equivalent to the AIM-120 in range?
Can it be equivalent to the AIM-120 in range?
Formally, we don't have the info (at least I don't) but imagine whether it makes sense being WVR or BVR when it can lock on up to 12 targets at the same time and each target can be either a surface or aerial object.
In fact, it makes sense, because if ADMM is WVR, then CFA-44 is absolutely useless aircraft in our reality (and the world of Ace Combat without game conventions).
Nevertheless, ADMM has the same range in the game as 4AAM (which is AIM-120), so I asked here.
I think it depends on the game. In AC6, it may have been BVR because it was extremely powerful there. But the weapon was heavily nerfed for Assault Horizon, and that nerf stayed in place for Infinity.
Thing is, I'm curious which game you're using for the comparison with 4AAM. In Infinity, at least, the 4AAM was a WVR weapon because it had terrible range. The 6AAM was a trade-off: BVR range, but less homing. The ADMM has the same range stat as the 4AAM, so I would say the ADMM was a WVR weapon in Infinity. But even that isn't useful because Infinity's stat bars meant absolutely nothing. Gameplay footage would help here.
In Infinity 4AAM's it's R-77/AIM-120(in any case, the models of these missiles were used) therefore, I assume that the ADMM is a weapon of the same class in range.
The model doesn't matter. That's like saying the F-16C should be a lot more capable because it's the F-16C model. :P
But in real world, yes, I meant what range ADMM will have in reality.
