So I just found out the su-37 never went into production and Was cancelled all together. It’s a shame really because it’s one of my favorite aircraft from ace combat

Same happened to me when i found out the YF-23 never went into production
Su-47 also never went in production.
I know about the SU-47 not going into production which is also a shame because that aircraft is pretty good to
You guys need to see all the cancelled planes... There are a lot of good fighters so cool cancelled by not reason
The problem the Su-47 was the forward-swept wings. While great for agility, the stress on them would likely have resulted in a very short airframe life.
The YF-23 lost to the YF-22 because it was less agile. Since the F-15, the USAF has prioritised agility over speed, due to the lessons learned in Vietnam.
I thought that the only trauma was for ground troops. I mean enemy planes shouldnt have been really good at Vietnam...
@Anzac-A1 - nope, a little more complicated.
According to a test pilot who flew both the F-22 and YF-23, the latter is comparable, if not superior to the latter.
Some of the rest is a little more straighforward: Lockheed is good at marketing, and the USAF thinks the F-22 is better manageable.
"I know about the SU-47 not going into production which is also a shame because that aircraft is pretty good to"
@Dukatofthe2ndorder there's just the problem of it ripping its own wings off if it had enough stress on the airframe. And that it was just a technology demonstrator, the equivalent of using F-15S/MTDs or ACTIVEs in real combat.
Ups. Mynlost message was supposed to end in the discussion about a Vietnam thematic AC...
What do you think?
