I don't recall feeling any delay in the few times I used my -SL-. In fact, I don't remember detecting any delay on any of the aircraft I have whose standard missiles are externally mounted. I did, however, have delay on the XFA-27 -HH- MSTM, which was extremely weird, but up to date I didn't feel delay on its standard missiles.
EDIT: Intrigued by your claim I went to test again the standard missiles on the CFA-44 -SL- and there is a delay when firing them as you describe, the rails working exactly the way you describe it. However the delay usually goes for the first missile in the salvo, since when you fire 1 missile, both rails will extend forward, thus the other missile you didn't fire yet is already ready to launch.
Also, this CFA-44 standard missile delay works very differently from that delay on standard missiles from aircraft that carry them in internal bays (specifically in my case, the Shinden). The delay I found on the MSTM was more similar to the latter. In the latter case, sometimes the missile won't fire, and then you switch target and attempt to fire 1 missile on the new target, only for your aircraft to automatically fire both of them.
In theory the missile delay on aircraft with standard missile internal bays (eg. Shinden, Raptor) should work like the Nosferatu's one, since when you fire a single missile (or just have a lock on a target) both bays are opened, and remain open for a brief time during which the other missile will have no delay. But I don't think that's the case, at least not from what I remember.
but that being verified, I would wholeheartedly say the XFA-27 is the best choice simply because of this.
That's a tough decision, I like both of them actually but the XFA-27 a little more. (like most people out there, I don't own the standard versions, but the XFA-27 -HH- as well as the CFA-44 -SL-... latter being stuck at level 1 though).
I think this is a matter of MSTM vs EML as both of those are what define their respective aircraft.
ADMM was kinda disappoint.
The CFA-44 doesn't have missile delay either.
Wanna know a game that's not "driven by story"? Tetris.
Or Space Invaders.
Even though Blaze comes to love Blaze at the end, she doesn't quite know why, if she could talk about it. Sure, Blaze is a godlike ace. But that's all there is to him.
Poorly developed protagonist equals to a bad quality story. Because the plot and the other characters naturally spin around the protagonist as the planets orbit around the Sun.
What were Edge's Famous Last Words again?
"Please, Blaze, let me fly as your wingman just for a little longer"
Sigh.
You're not seeing the obvious, Sylvered, I wonder why.
AC5's story is an utter mess - from the very Razgriz legend to the way Edge figuratively glomps on Blaze's shoulder at the end (again, not openly stated, but strongly implied). No part of the plot makes sense at all. Gameplay wise might be good; literarily, it's a piece of crap.
And remember, kids: "You can ask the audience to believe the unbelievable, but NOT the improbable".
@A tempered Ace, it's interesting you bring (AC5) Edge to the table. I realize Janice "Razor" Rehl was meant to be an expy of Edge in many ways (similarly themed callsigns, for a start), but the ironic twist of fate is, Razor ended up being a hell of a lot better character than Edge.
Look how Edge is. She is a tough-as-nails woman, much of an "ice queen" type of character who only thaws to Blaze in the end. But how could Blaze "win her heart" through sheer fighter pilot skills alone? This makes no sense whatsoever. One thing is to be an amazing fighter pilot and other completely different thing is to be a person so good-hearted that's able to love and be loved by someone else.
And don't even get me on how AC5 epically ignores the RIOs/WSOs/"guys in the back" (ditto for AC6).
Willing Suspension of Disbelief only works up to a point.
Everyone loves good stories. No exceptions here.
But there cannot be a good story when you have poorly developed characters and plotholes all over the story. The result of this is that you often end up HATING the story in the end - and with it, the game that brought it to you - rather than liking or loving it.
I despise all of the previous Ace Combat silent protagonists. For me, it really makes no sense whatsoever to have a protagonist like that in a game's story. Even if you DO like these kind of protagonist characters, I believe some ones like Master Chief from Halo do the job A LOT BETTER than any of the AC games' ones. Still, I despise them.
They say player characters are made this way so that it's easier for the player to imagine as if he/she was the character him/herself. But you see, the funny yet true thing is, I cannot imagine myself as one of these characters. I would never be able to. First of all, I'm not a fighter pilot in real life. I'm not a mercenary. Or even a regular militia soldier, etc. Secondly, these characters are totally devoid of personality; you'd wonder if Mobius 1/Cipher/Blaze/etc are even human. Even soldiers or mercenaries in real life are not devoid of emotion. But these characters ARE. I can and often do feel emotions, as any other normal person would, I guess.
Whenever I read a story I do appreciate those personality traits on the characters, and it is from there that I'm able to feel or form some kind of "empathy" with these characters. To identify myself with a character. I can understand how humans feel because I'm human myself. And that is exactly what gives me the ability to imaginarily "put myself on other person's shoes" so to speak. But to put myself on the shoes of a being that I don't know if it's even sentient, rational, let alone be human, that I find myself unable to do. So, I cannot imagine myself being Cipher because I don't know how Cipher is supposed to be. He might be an alien being, but I'm no alien, so I don't feel empathy, I cannot identify myself as him.
And third, at this point in life, I realize you have to be very imaginative, a genius in fact, to come up with a good story, to mentally construct a world, with characters possessing personalities living in it. So I see these types of chars as lazyness on the part of the person who came up with the story of the game. It's a lazy, cheap thing to not give the character any kind of personality and just present it to the player and say "here it is, your game's protagonist, he's got no voice or face because he is you, so he's however the way you are" That is cheap and unimaginative. If you work in the development of a game, or are just a common writer, and do this to the player, or reader, I have to take you are not serious about what is meant to be your business.
The closest thing to a playable character in AC that I liked was Will Bishop. So, I would really like "human" playable character(s) in AC7. Yes, I know they're human, but you know what I mean. Say whatever you want about Assault Horizon, but I liked the story, and the characters, it was the best AC game in that aspect. Bishop was a badass, Guts was likable, Janice was lovely, and even Markov was a very human-like antagonist. Whatever.
We can have:
And many more................
the only "starter aircraft" you're going to see for sure in ACI will be Jack Bartlett's F-4G -HB-.
I have that feeling I'm about to ask a dumb question, but, what does Cipher's Draken look like?
I hope it's not like this because it would be a real bummer/letdown in the nutties:
I mean, it's just a plain silver J35 with Cipher's numbers and Ustio AF roundels on it.
It means that if they ever decide to deliver an EA-6B -Nugget-, it better have 4 Nuggets inside it.
XFA-36, P-51D Mustang and a special Tornado as a random drop.
It would be XFA-27 or the yet-to-come XFA-36 (The Game). But in the meanwhile, Morgan and Wyvern are doing. (also a Nagase Shinden)
I don't care lol. All my 725-750 cst fighters are gonna be done at level 11. Unless Hard maps become significantly more rewarding. I already am done with the vanilla F-22A and the -TG-, so I'm dedicating my credits to other aircraft like the F-15C variants and saving up whatever SP Aircraft Lvl Cap form comes at my hands for these. Oddly enough I don't find any special attacker or multirole worthy of spending more of those forms onto it.
My tree progress is nearly done, I just need to get some of the "combo parts". I'll see when they repeat the Demon Lord TDM event to see if I can get to earn the -Cipher- this time. Meanwhile I'm still upgrading the -Patriot- Eagle in one of my accounts. Regardless, I still enjoy the game (but I think there's still room for improvement), and there's plenty of aircraft I have that I'd like to upgrade, so I doubt I'll ever be "done" with it
This may sound like obvious but most people seems to forget there are THREE conditions for this challenge:
- Plane must be an attacker.
- Plane must be equipped with SOD (which is in itself a pre-requisite for the third condition)
- You must score 12,000 or whatever amount of points required using SOLELY the SOD.
you should be paying attention specially to the third point. Maybe you were using only the SOD, and you noticed at the top left corner of the screen and it said "12,000" points but maybe not all of those were earned directly by destruction of enemies with the SOD. Maybe a percentage of the score was actually rescue bonus points, decoy bonus points, confirmation points by targeting an enemy an ally of yours has destroyed, etc.
So, if I was you, I would actually try killing enemies with SOD, but wait till my score was like 20,000 points or something like that, before going at full power using other weapons just to be sure.
Level 11 F-15J -TG- with level 5 6AAM.
I use it in every map but Comona, Avalon or Stonehenge raids. For those maps, I would use my level 10 Rafale -VA- armed with level 5 LASM.
Interesting. The G1 Decepticon Seekers are F-15Cs, though. G1 Air Raid is an F-15E.
Not an anime series really but I've always wanted a Sonic Wings/Aerofighters crossover event. Pretty much all of the Sonic Wings 1 and 2 planes are here anyway (FSX = F-2A).
As for an actual anime show, the original Macross pretty much. Maybe they'll throw out the F-14 Valkyrie skins from AH as a special aircraft exclusive to Japanese players at some point.
At least put more modern crap planes to start out.
Maybe the AMX as an attacker.
Yeah, and I think Bolivia is still flying T-33s. Who cares.
