The firepower & technology - as well as military capabilities - North Korea possesses don't come anywhere near those of Leasath, but the other similarities are pretty much there. You both made good points.
I think comparing Leasath with Venezuela would be quite a downgrde of Leasath, considering Venezuela's internal situation since the 2000s, and Leasath's military capabilities. Hell, I think Iran, or especially South Africa, can both be more appropriate, at least in the military capabilities department, although the current SANDF is nowhere near the South African military of the past.
@SlyCooperFan1 That was D. McKinsey with a Spare pilot in Mission 9 briefing, right? Do we know which pilot said that line?
@Dimitri63 I'd prefer the Mirage F1 over the G, but I'm not complaining. The Super Étendard as an attacker would also be nice.

@Jakob: Yeah, I've witnessed that many times.
@X-03: Well, plot armor is Hollywood technology, and it has been around for too long. But on a serious note, a proper excuse would make a hell of a climax.
You know, that's one hell of a version of that mission, and it'd be much more dramatic. To be honest, I'd rather Mihaly died a heroic death rather than had his wings clipped like that. We all knew that he didn't want that war, he just want to have the sky to himself.
However, I think the ending in Lost Kingdom also has to be changed to a more appropriate one to better explain Mihaly's survival in this alternate timeline.
@Triggerdigger10: I used to think like you, and I've played that mission many times and failed S rank even on Easy, but eventually I found out that it is quite simple to achieve the S rank for that mission.
This was my first successful attempt to achieve S on Ace difficulty:
1. Aircraft: Sukhoi Su-30SM.
2. SP weapon: LAGM.
_ Variable Cycle Engine.
_ Superior Maneuverability.
_ New High-Energy Propellant (MSL).
_ Electronic Optical Hybrid Sight (MSL).
_ Thrust-Adjusting Steering Device (MSL).
_ Electronic Optical Hybrid Sight (Sp. W).
_ Takeoff Weight Augmentation (Sp. W) or Multiple Enemy Detection Device (Sp. W). More ordnance or faster reload time, it's up to you. I flew with the former.
_ Onboard Self-Defense Jammer.
_ Try to complete the first part of the mission in ~6 minutes max. Since the maximum time bonus is rewarded for completing the mission in 11 minutes or less, minus the ~1 minutes 52 seconds "slack" period after the first mission update where you have to survive the encounter with the 11 F/A-18F drones faking IFF, this will give you ~3 minutes and 8 seconds for the second update of the mission where you have to shoot down the drones.
_ For the first part of the mission, destroy the radar sites in a clockwise direction (start from SE, head towards NW and keep destroying targets following that direction). Avoid unnecessary combat as much as possible, since the missile will lock on quickly on Ace difficulty, leaving you a very tight window for maneuvering and escaping back into the clouds. Unnecessary combat also effectively waste your precious time.
_ The reason I went with the LAGM: It has a reasonable lock-on range, which makes you less vulnerable to those satellite-guided missiles while engaging targets. Provided you fire it at a suitable angle, the missile will NEVER miss its targets, since the missile will climb above the target before diving down towards it, and due to its decent blast radius, you can take out grouped targets (e.g. pair of AA guns) with a single missile, giving you more of those much needed destruction points without wasting away your time.
_ Like I mentioned above, try to target as many of those pair of AA guns as possible. Not only you earn more destruction points, destroy enough of them and the F/A-18F "SPIDER" will appear (refer to the mission page or the ACES page for more accurate information). Since shooting him down earn you 1400 points, which is ~12% of the required total destruction points, this will be an invaluable contribution. Only chase him down after you have destroyed all 5 radar sites however, since after all sites are destroyed, the timer will freeze, and you will have ~30 seconds to shoot him down before the first mission update.
_ The second mission update requires a bit of luck however, since there are Helios missiles involved. Sometimes the Helios missiles will destroy one or more of the F/A-18F drones, that will effectively limit how many points you can earn. If you shot down SPIDER in the first part of the mission, this should not affect the overall result. If you are unable to shoot SPIDER down or unable to make him appear, then you should kill those drones as quickly as possible.
_ Remember, QUICK is the key word for this mission. Whether it is destroying targets, or sprinting to one part of the map to another, time is crucial.
_ Points table (these are the targets I remembered because I usually go after these guys, so there are more of them out there):
* AH-64D Apache: 200 points. There are 6 of them, and they always fly in pairs. If you want, destroy the pairs at the western and northern part of the map (if you go clockwise like I did, that means they appear at the 2nd radar site and between the 3rd and 4th radar site, respectively).
* F/A-18F (drones): 500 points. There are 11 of them. Your Su-30SM should be able to take care of them quickly.
* F/A-18F SPIDER: 1400 points.
* Radar sites: 200(?) points. There are 5 of them, and they are TGTs.
* AA gun: 120/150(?) points. At least 20 of them.
* Warehouse: 100 points. At least 11 of them.
I hope these information and tips can help you achieve the S rank for this mission. Best of luck.
Sly is correct. I have played the game, and I can confirm this. The SP skin for the CFA-44 is unlocked by achieving 15 Service Medals. Honestly, I'm quite disappointed about the skin, because in my opinion, it's just meh.
