History
Strangereal
The Intruder was used by both the Osean Maritime Defense Force and the Yuktobanian Air Force during the Circum-Pacific War. The aircraft played a heavy role during Yuktobania's initial offensive, with numerous Intruders being sent to sink the OFS Kestrel during the Bombing of St. Hewlett.
During the early days of the Aurelian War, the Leasath Air Force operated the Intruder, with a notable pilot named Ari.
Infinity universe
During Operation Eternal Liberation, the Intruder was made available for UNF pilots.

Trivia
- The YK color in AC5, Leasath color in ACX and C02 in ACJA was used only for two A-6E Intruders (№161667 from VA-36 "Roadrunners" and №155620 from VA-65 "Tigers", USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71), tail code "AJ") in Operation Desert Storm (1991).
- In some of the games it has appeared in, the A-6E Intruder is unique, being one of only few aircraft to carry external gun pods instead of an internal gun, like most other fighters. This characteristic allows it to carry two guns instead of one, at the cost of less accuracy, as the guns are placed far from the aircraft's centerline. It is also unique in Infinity as the only plane capable of dropping 4 UGBs whereas all other planes, besides the MUGBs of bombers, can only drop 2.
- The nickname "Cool Hand" in Infinity may be a reference to the "Flight of The Intruder" movie in which "Cool Hand" is the callsign of the protagonist Jake Grafton. The movie also featured A-6s with its role as the U.S Navy's primary attack aircraft during Vietnam War being part of the plot.
- The A-6E Intruder's deployment in the Usean coup d'état is non-canon as the aircraft does not appear in Ace Combat 2's remake, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy.
