Following is the list of campaign missions in the Japanese version of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere. The missions are split into different story arcs depending on which organization the player is allied with at that point in the story.

UPEO (I)[]

The player will always begin the game in this story arc as a member of the Universal Peace Enforcement Organization (UPEO).

Conflict breaks out between Neucom and General Resource. As part of their peacekeeping efforts, UPEO pilots Fiona Chris Fitzgerald, Erich Jager, and Nemo, led by the famous ace Rena Hirose, are sent to bring down Neucom transports trespassing over Expo City's no-fly zone.
Bravado Waiapolo Mountains
Nemo is formally transferred to SARF, UPEO's Special Armed Response Force. His first deployment in this role is taking down a Neucom radar site that is jamming a General Resource airway in the Waiapolo Mountains.
Enter Dision Chopinburg
As part of the cooperation between SARF and General Resource, Nemo performs a joint training flight with the company's ace Abyssal Dision and his wingman Keith Bryan. Their exercise is interrupted by Neucom dropping chemical containers within General Resource airspace. Nemo, Dision, and Keith, are sent to intercept them.
Paper Tiger Rocky Island
UPEO discovers a number of Neucom units amassing near Megafloat and authorizes a pre-emptive strike. Since Rena's Su-37R is inoperable, Nemo, Fiona, and Erich sortie without her, reinforced by Dision and Keith. Upon destroying the Neucom forces, news arrives that UPEO representative Gabriel William Clarkson negotiated a cease-fire between Neucom and General Resource. Dision, discontent with the politicians' methods, invites Nemo to General Resource in order to "achieve something in this world."

DECIDE: The player can either join Dision at General Resource (moving to the General Resource (I) story arc) or refuse and stay loyal to UPEO (moving to the UPEO (II) story arc).

UPEO (II)[]

The player will enter this story arc if they decided to stay loyal at the end of Paper Tiger in the UPEO (I) story arc.

Broken Truce Waiapolo Mountains
In violation of the cease-fire, General Resource attacks a Neucom air base. Nemo, Fiona, and Erich are sent to quell the hostilities. Dision and Keith observe the skirmish from afar without interfering (they cannot be locked onto).
Ghosts of the Past Hatties Ravine
Nemo and Rena (the latter sortieing for the first time in three missions) pursue a General Resource surveillance aircraft through a narrow canyon while at low altitude. While in pursuit, Rena suddenly recovers vague memories of the surrounding area and of Dision. Eventually, the spy plane leads them to a General Resource research facility, which they destroy.
No Clearance Expo City
The player will play this mission only if they discovered the secret base in Ghosts of the Past.

Rena takes off on an unauthorized personal mission and invites Nemo to join her. SARF Commander Gilbert Park orders them to turn around.

If Nemo joins Rena, they run into General Resource planes led by Dision immediately after take-off. During the skirmish, Rena verbally confronts Dision about the X-49 Night Raven, claiming he took it from her. Afterwards, their misconduct is overlooked thanks to their victory against General Resource, while Rena purges the flight data.

Fragile Cargo Axel Bay
The player will play this mission if they didn't discover the secret base in Ghosts of the Past, or if they obeyed Park and left Rena in No Clearance.

An unknown terrorist group sends an airship filled with biological weapons towards the Axel Bay area. Nemo, Fiona, and Erich destroy the chimneys it tries crashing into. They then destroy the hydrofoil with the escaping terrorists. Following the mission, Fiona tells Nemo about her sister, Cynthia, who works for Neucom and wants Fiona to join her.

Scylla and Charybdis Lambert Mountains
SARF tasks Erich and Nemo with escorting an R-505U on a top-secret mission; Fiona is piloting the R-505U, and UPEO representative Clarkson is on-board. A General Resource squadron enters the area, but Nemo and Erich manage to repel them. Rena catches up with the group as SARF Commander Park reveals that Fiona, Clarkson, and other UPEO personnel are attempting to defect to Neucom. Rena and an allied R-101U prepare to attack the R-505U.

DECIDE: If the player shoots down the R-505U or allows Rena to shoot it down, they will move to the UPEO (III) story arc. If the player shoots down the allied R-101U, Rena will retreat and the player will defect to Neucom, moving to the Neucom (I) story arc.

UPEO (III)[]

The player will enter this story arc if Fiona is killed by some means at the end of Scylla and Charybdis in the UPEO (II) story arc.

Nemo, Rena, and Erich are sent to intercept four of Neucom's R-531 Moburas over General Resource's White Valley air base. Due to UPEO's lack of Strato Fighters, the three pilots use the Su-37 Super Flanker to intercept them.
Reaching for Stars Comona Islands
Nemo, Rena, and Erich intercept General Resource Antlions attempting to invade Neucom's base at the Comona Islands.
One-Way Ticket Sandbury Desert
Reports emerge of Neucom kidnapping General Resource scientists. UPEO discovers the scientists are being transported via train and sends Nemo, Rena, and Erich to stop the train.
Bug Hunt Chopinburg
Neucom's Nano-Bytes in Chopinburg have gone rogue. UPEO sends Nemo, Rena, and Erich to eliminate them using Anti-Nanobyte Bombs. The mission goes awry when Rena's Su-37-R becomes infected with Nano-Bytes, so Nemo drops an Anti-Nanobyte Bomb onto Rena's plane to save her.
Pawns in the Game Expo City
UPEO sends Nemo, Rena, and Erich to bomb General Resource armories in Expo City. They are provided with three R-211 Orcinus and work with a Neucom UI-4053 Sphyrna for jamming support, all aircraft featuring Neucom liveries. The operation was a success, but General Resource blames Neucom for what they call a terrorist attack, and it is revealed that Commander Park is attempting to instigate conflict between the two companies.
Damage Control Port Edwards
General Resource and Neucom declare war on each other, breaking out in conflict over Port Edwards. In a state of emergency, UPEO sends Nemo, Rena, and Erich to shoot down the fighters from both companies to end the hostilities. After the mission is completed, the terrorist organization Ouroboros reveals itself and begins operations against UPEO, Neucom, and General Resource. SARF Commander Park disbands the SARF and confesses his alliance to Ouroboros, asking all former SARF pilots to join him.
Broken Wings North Point
Rena deserts the group to go after Dision on her own. He presents her with the X-49 Night Raven. Meanwhile, Nemo and Erich, attempting to rescue Rena, shoot down a squadron of Ouroboros aircraft in their way. Rena takes off in the X-49 from the terrorist aircraft carrier, the UI-4053 Sphyrna from a prior mission, and attacks it with the X-49's laser. In retaliation, Dision forces the X-49 to self-destruct and crash.
Sphyrna Expo City
Nemo and Erich destroy the damaged UI-4053 Sphyrna above Expo City, killing Dision and supposedly putting an end to Ouroboros.
A Canopy of Stars Expo City
Erich and Nemo return to UPEO. They shoot down all UPEO forces loyal to Gilbert Park and assassinate Park himself. Afterward, Rena is revealed to have survived the X-49's crash.

General Resource (I)[]

The player will enter this story arc if they join Dision at the end of Paper Tiger in the UPEO (I) story arc.

Megafloat Rocky Island
Nemo, Dision, and Keith destroy Neucom's military installations on Megafloat.
Target Acquisition Expo City
This mission is only played if the player fails to destroy all targets in Megafloat within 3 minutes 30 seconds, and destroys the Hydrofoil that spawns.

Dision brings Nemo on an unauthorized reconnaissance mission to find the X-49 Night Raven. During the mission, Dision has an unexpected encounter with Rena.

Partners Scofield Plateau
This mission is played if the player destroys all targets in Megafloat within 3 minutes 30 seconds, or allows the Hydrofoil to escape.

Keith and Nemo are sent to destroy a set of Neucom's power plants.

Tainted Peace Lambert Mountains
GRDF sends Nemo, Dision, and Keith to assassinate UPEO representative Clarkson, Fiona, and other UPEO personnel attempting to defect to Neucom with essential intelligence.
Stratosphere White Valley
Nemo sorties to intercept six R-531 Moburas, while Dision and Keith cover the air base below. Keith finds himself in trouble when he comes under attack by a R-311 Remora. Nemo can choose to help Keith or to complete the mission.
Welcoming Committee Comona Islands
This mission is only played if the player saves Keith in Stratosphere by destroying the R-311 Remora firing on him.

GRDF sends Nemo and Keith to intercept an R-808 Phoca carrying vital GR intelligence.

Technology Transfer Comona Islands
This mission is played if the player shoots down the Moburas in Stratosphere.

Nemo and Dision are sent to defend an Antlion squad invading Neucom's space development facility. An emergency mission is announced when an R-352 begins launching to intercept GR's OSLs satellites.

Claustrophobia Amber Mountains
This mission is only played if the player plays Welcoming Committee (by saving Keith in Stratosphere).

GRDF receives intelligence on a Neucom missile base, so they send Keith and Nemo to bomb the base.

Dilemma Petrol Coast
GRDF sends Nemo, Dision, and Keith to the Petrol Coast Fjords where a Neucom naval resupply base is discovered.

DECIDE: Dision offers Nemo the choice to join him in deserting General Resource. If the player chooses to go with him, they will move to the Ouroboros (I) story arc. If they choose to stick with Keith and stay at General Resource, the player will move to the General Resource (II) story arc.

General Resource (II)[]

The player will enter this story arc if they stay with Keith at the end of Dilemma in the General Resource (I) story arc.

Neucom amasses an armada of naval fleets and pilots at Megafloat. Nemo and Keith sortie to destroy all of their war assets with GR's XFA-36A Game.
Heart of the Serpent Eusian Ocean
Nemo and Keith scramble to hunt down the head of the serpent, the UI-4053 Sphyrna.
Geofront Attack Geofront (St. Ark)
This mission is only played if the player deals enough damage to the X-49 in Heart of the Serpent within 3 minutes.

The Night Raven and Rena survive and escape through Geofront while Keith and Nemo give pursuit. They destroy the pillars supporting Geofront to activate a self-destruct sequence in an attempt to trap the Night Raven in the rubble.

Casualties of War Port Edwards
Keith and Nemo face Rena in a final showdown, destroying the Night Raven along with its pilot. Immediately thereafter, Dision returns in an UI-4054 Aurora. Keith ultimately sacrifices himself to destroy Dision and put an end to Ouroboros.
Geopelia Port Edwards
GRDF sends Nemo to intercept a group of XR-900 Geopelias, believed to be Neucom-made, over Port Edwards.

Ouroboros (I)[]

The player will enter this story arc if they join Dision at the end of Dilemma in the General Resource (I) story arc.

With Port Edwards still reeling from the aftermath of GRDF and NEU's air-to-air skirmish, Nemo and Dision destroy its freeways and a Neucom HQ stationed in the city.
Liquidation Megafloat
Rocky Island
This mission is only played if the player spends 1 minute and 30 seconds without destroying all targets in the Mission Update in The Orientation.

With the rest of Neucom's personnel safely evacuated, they mount a counterattack against Ouroboros with everything they have. Nemo and Dision shut down the attack, and Dision declares Neucom finished as the Night Raven's laser destroys Megafloat.

Archnemesis Expo City
Nemo and Dision fly over Expo City to finish off the already-weakened UPEO and assassinate Gilbert Park. As soon as the mission ends, Rena's memories accidentally return thanks to Nemo.
Memory Error Rocky Island
Keith and Nemo engage in an aerial showdown against Rena and Dision. During the dogfight, Keith crashes his plane through the Night Raven's wing and orders Nemo to shoot both of them down, taking Rena down at the cost of his life. Nemo destroys the Sphyrna as well.
Electrosphere Rocky Island
Nemo and Dision engage in a final dogfight inside the confines of the Electrosphere.

Neucom (I)[]

The player will enter this story arc if they destroy the R-101U and save Fiona at the end of Scylla and Charybdis in the UPEO (II) story arc.

The NEU ace Cynthia sorties together with the recent defectors Nemo and Fiona on a bombing mission at the White Valley Air Base.
Guardian Angel Comona Islands
This mission is only played if the player destroys 7 or more radar sites and oil tanks in Power for Life.

NEU sends Nemo, Fiona, and Cynthia to the Comona Islands to defend the R-808 Phoca carrying vital intelligence on the GR.

Zero Gravity Outer space
This mission is played if the player destroys less than 6 radar sites and oil tanks in Power for Life.

Neucom sends Nemo to outer space to destroy four of General Resource's Orbital Satellite Lasers.

The Prize Eusian Ocean
This mission is only played if the player played Guardian Angel (by destroying 7 or more radar sites and oil tanks in Power for Life).

A Neucom recon satellite has crashed in the middle of the ocean, so NEU sends their aces to intercept GR's recovery team while defending their own.

Utopian Dreams White Valley
General Resource is amassing an air force squad against Neucom, so NEU sends Cynthia, Fiona, and Nemo on a preemptive strike. As the mission ends, Ouroboros starts their revolution, and Cynthia breaks her ties to Neucom.

DECIDE: The player can join Cynthia and desert to Ouroboros, which will move them to the Ouroboros (II) story arc. They can also choose to stay with Fiona and remain loyal to Neucom, moving them to the Neucom (II) story arc.

Ouroboros (II)[]

The player will enter this story arc if they join Cynthia and desert to Ouroboros at the end of Utopian Dreams in the Neucom (I) story arc.

Inside Geofront, Nemo and Cynthia pursue Rena and her Night Raven.
Self Awareness Port Edwards
Nemo and Cynthia make an alliance with Simon Orestes Cohen to destroy the Night Raven. After destroying all Aeon Generators that power it, they manage to take down the aircraft and Ouroboros along with it.

Neucom (II)[]

The player will enter this story arc if they stick with Fiona and stay loyal to Neucom at the end of Utopian Dreams in the Neucom (I) story arc.

NEU sends Nemo and Fiona on a preemptive strike against Ouroboros. During the skirmish, Fiona spots Cynthia escorting the Sphyrna and attempts in vain to persuade her to return to Neucom.
Radio Silence Gulf of St. Ark
This mission is only played if the player heavily damages the UI-4053 Sphyrna within 90 seconds at the end of Resistance.

Despite taking heavy damage, the Sphyrna is still operational, so NEU recalls Nemo and Fiona back to Megafloat for another attack on the aircraft. Before the mission ends, Cynthia engages the NEU aces, but Nemo shoots her down.

Revenge Gulf of St. Ark
The Night Raven destroys Megafloat. Nemo and Fiona avenge Neucom by finally destroying Sphyrna.
Tunnel Vision Geofront (St. Ark)
With the Sphyrna destroyed, Rena in the Night Raven and Dision in the UI-4054 Aurora flee to Geofront. Nemo and Fiona enter the Geofront tunnels to hunt them down.
Sole Survivor Geofront (St. Ark)
Nemo and Fiona, with some assistance from Simon hacking the Night Raven's Aeon Generator, engage Rena and Dision in a final dogfight and shoot them down.

Other[]

Two missions are present in the game's resources, only accessible via GameShark. They are not an official part of Ace Combat 3.

In addition, a demo mission titled Special Mission was distributed via demo discs. It cannot be played in Ace Combat 3 itself.
