The M42 Antares Squadron is a squadron belonging to the private military company Martinez Security, and is featured as the player's squadron in Ace Combat X2: Joint Assault. The team is first deployed in Tokyo, in the outset of the Valahia Crisis.

Valahia Crisis

The M42 Squadron's first known deployment was at a joint military show at the Midway Islands. During the show, the squadron confronted a large formation of aircraft and successfully shot down the formation and consequently began the Valahia Crisis.

Trivia

• The squadron's namesake is based off Antares, a super-giant star located in the Milky Way constellation Scorpius, where the scorpion in the team's emblem comes from.
• The Antares Squadron is the first in the 'modern' Ace Combat series wherein all the pilots' information are unknown.
