Apito International Airport

Apito International Airport is first seen in Ace Combat 05: The Unsung War.

Apito International Airport, located in mid-Osea, had grown into one of the largest airports on the planet and had become an international airport in the process, further opening up Osea to the world. Operations included taking in flights from different airline companies such as Air Ixiom from the Usean Continent, along with Air Erusia. The airport had no history of any large problems or scares until the year 2003 when a member of "A World With No Boundaries" was arrested there because of passport issues.

Operation Long Harpoon

In 2010, as Osean aircraft were launched to engage a threat in Bana City, a second unit was sent to Apito City to engage a small unit of fighters. As the Osean fighters began to engage the incoming aircraft, the airport was suddenly attacked by Yuktobanian Special Forces. The Yuktobanian Special Forces managed to sneak into the airport within unmarked military transport aircraft that had been mistaken as Osean Air Force aircraft by the Apito Control Tower. The fighters promptly scrambled back towards the airport. Yuktobanian tanks and troops unloaded from the transports and began to open fire on the flight terminals, corridors, and airliners on the ground. This effectively blocked the runway, causing many international flights stuck in the air to be threatened by Yuktobanian fighter aircraft and fuel shortages. The Osean fighter squadron returned to Apito International Airport and the Yuktobanian forces outside were eventually destroyed. However, with the gas attack occurring in Bana City, it was difficult for the Osean ground forces to respond rapidly, leading to a short period of occupation by remnant forces inside the airport buildings themselves.
