Archelon Fortress is a military complex built by the Democratic Republic of Leasath. A stronghold located on Sentry Island in the Danern Straits of southern Leasath, Archelon Fortress served as the Leasathian military's main headquarters, as well as a production facility for the Fenrir, the prototype fighter that started the entire Leasath-Aurelia War. It is housed on the island with a full view on all sides, preventing it from being invaded. It houses a Shock Cannon on the peak, similar to the Gleipnir's, although with a faster firing time.
History
Op.15A End of Deception I
The Aurelian Forces were preparing to assault Archelon Fortress when they were atttacked by the new H.P.M. plasma weapon deployed by Fenrir. The squadron then continued with the attack on the fortress and the Fenrirs. As all the Fenrirs were soon destroyed, a desperation attempt to destroy the advancing Aurelians, the fortress' commander activated the Shock Cannon. The Shock Cannon was soon destroyed by Gryphus 1 which ended the Aurelian War.
Leasath-Aurelia War Op.15B End of Deception II
Archelon Fortress was assaulted and destroyed by Gryphus 1 and Aquila Squadron after it was revealed the Leasath superfighter Fenrir was being built there. The elite Alect Squadron intercepted them in the Fenrir, but fortunately a small Aurelian landing force was able to bypass the fortress' naval defenses and land on the island. They then proceeded to destroy the High Powered Microwave Emitter (HPM), disabling Fenrir's cloaking. Along with a Shock Cannon, seen on the Gleipnir, was installed onto the island, but was destroyed.
Gryphus 1 then destroyed all Leasath forces and proceeded to enter the fortress to destroy a fleeing Fenrir. The Aurelian ground forces planted explosives around the facility, causing it to self-destruct. Gryphus 1 managed to escape the base as it exploded in a massive fireball.
