The Aurelian Air Force is active within the Leasath-Aurelia War in 2020 (Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception & Ace Combat Xi: Skies of Incursion). Due to heavy losses throughout the course of the war, very few squadrons were left for the counter-attack late in the 2020 Leasath-Aurelia War. The squadron's names are themed after bird genera, which are most likely seen in Aurelia.
- Gryphus squadron (Andean Condor): Gryphus squadron's aircraft change throughout the course of the war as more advanced aircraft become available to them. Gryphus squadron consisted solely of Gryphus 1 and 5 after the XB-337 Gleipnir attacked the entire squadron with it's SWBMs. They were later joined by Aquila 1 and 2 plus the remainder of Ninox squadron in later stages of the game. Primarily the F-4E Phantom II, F-16C Fighting Falcon, Su-27, JAS-39C Gripen, YF-23A Black Widow II, and the F-22A Raptor.
- Ninox squadron (Hawk Owl): Su-27 Flanker.
- Otus squadron (Scops Owl): F-117A Night Hawk.
- Falco squadron (Falcon): F-22 Raptor, YF-23 Black Widow II, Rafale M.
- Aquila squadron (Eagle): F-22 Raptor.
- Milvus squadron (Red Kite): Tornado F.3, A-10A Thunderbolt II, F-16C Fighting Falcon.
