The Bastok Peninsula is a stretch of land located in the southeastern most tip of the Union of Yuktobanian Republics, in the Verusan Continent.

History

Prelude to Operation Footprint

In October 27, 2010, after the failed Yuktobanian invasion of Sand Island Air Force Base, the 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron was sent in a patrol mission to Akerson Hill, a region located in central Osea in order to prevent any subsequent Yuke attacks in Osean soil. During their mission, two pilots of the Wardog Squadron, Blaze and Kei "Edge" Nagase, encountered a lone C-5B Galaxy with technical problems in the area with heading to North Point in the Usean Continent, which had been damaged by missile fire from the local Osean ADEZ defense system, given that it did not appear as friendly in the system's radar.

The two Wardog pilots led the C-5B, callsign Mother Goose One, through the defense net unscathed to northern Akerson, which was uncovered by the ADEZ system. After Edge & Blaze reunited with Alvin H. Davenport & Hans Grimm, Mother Goose One reported engine problems, thus forcing it to attempt an emergency landing in the field below. Wardog assisted Mother Goose One by blowing up windmills in its path, as well as protecting the craft from Yuke MiG-31 Foxhounds which unexpectedly appeared from outside the mission boundaries.

After the emergency landing, all remaining enemy craft retreated from Osean airspace. At that same time, the Osean 8492nd Squadron, in actuality the Belkan 229th Tactical Fighter Squadron in disguise, approached the area, telling the now-complete Wardog Squadron that they would take it upon themselves to escort Mother Goose One, when in reality their objective was to kidnap Osean President Vincent Harling, who was aboard Mother Goose One, and also communicated with Wardog Squadron under the pseudonym "Mr. Cargo".

After the disappearance of President Harling, the Osean Vice-President gave the green light to a full-scale invasion of Yuktobania.

F-15C Flying In Bastok Peninsula

Landing at Bastok

In November 1, 2010, the Osean Maritime Defense Force launched Operation Footprint, a maritime landing operation whose objective was to capture the Yuktobanian military fortress built in Bastok, and use it as a front base for military operations in the country.

The Osean Maritime Defense Force landed on the beach, accompanied by the Wardog Squadron and a few others. Bunkers there were difficult to destroy only from the air, so the Air Force had to cooperate with the Army and destroy them. After Units A, B, C, and D regrouped, they went after the main base, met by A-10s, F-4Xs, Tornado GR.1s, and AH-64s, as well as two bunkers and a few howitzers.

Days after the operation, the Yuktobanian Navy underwater carrier Hrimfaxi initiated ballistic missile attacks on the Bastok Peninsula, in an attempt to destroy Osea's main base of operations in Yuktobania. In November 2010, Wardog Squadron was sent to the Razgriz Straits, located north of the Federal Republic of Estovakia in the Anean Continent to sink the Hrimfaxi via a low-altitude infiltration & surprise attack. While their cover was blown by the mini-submarine picket circling the Hrimfaxi, the succeeded in sinking the massive behemoth while also avoiding ICBM attack, thus averting the threat of burst missile attacks to Bastok, as well as earning them the nickname of the "Demons of Razgriz".
