The Battle of Zhytomyr is the only known military engagement that took place during the Tyumen Dispute in 1986. During the battle, the Yuktobanian Air Force's 9th Air Division, 112th Tactical Fighter Squadron engaged Kaluga's northern forces. Both sides sustained heavy losses, but the Kalugans were ultimately defeated.[1]

  • Many of the Yuktobanian pilots who survived Zhytomyr began suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder; the remainder of the 9th AD 112th TFS was subsequently discharged. This included Dominic Zubov, who was not suffering from PTSD symptoms.[1]
  • The Japanese katakan for Zhytomyr (ジトミル) is the same as that for Zhytomyr, Ukraine.[1]
