Can the ASF-X compete with aircraft like the T-50 PAK FA? The ASF-X is an end-of-tree plane, but it's not as far down the tree as the T-50.

Looks to me like we were seeing if it could compete with end of tree planes, such as the T-50. Sometimes personal experience is more valid an opinion than a couple of bars in a stat sheet. The reality of the matter is, if you have somebody in a level 10 F-22 (Or T-50 for those of us OCD about keeping the thread on topic), and you are in a level 1 Shinden, you are going to have a tough time keeping up with them. The shindens statistics make it pretty obvious that it isn't the speediest aircraft in the game when compared to end of tree planes, but it's also a multirole craft not developed specifically for air to air combat, which means it isn't geared specifically towards Air Intercept missions. My shinden is currently level 6, and based on the statistics tree, you will lose everytime you encounter a higher tier craft, but based on personal experience, it can hold its own against F-22's and T-50's alike if you utilize it properly Also, do yourself a favor, Don't sortie in Co op with the thing until you unlock LASM's
So, all I've heard so far is "It has poor speed and armor." But is the mobility and attack power worth the loss of speed and armor?
EDIT: So based on my calculations, the Shinden II is inferior to the T-50 and the F-22A, but it costs a lot less and requires a lot less research time. It is not the best of the best, but it certainly isn't bad either. And its Level 1 weapon is a 6AAM. It's not a replacement for an end of tree aircraft, but it can certainly substitute until I can get the SU-47 or a T-50.
The better question is how will the ASF-X -Ridgebacks- compare. Granted most of us wont be getting that but it will be rank 750 at least, theoretically putting on par with the Morgan, Su-47, F-22, and T-50.
What a load of nonsense. Bandai-Namco will be filling out this tree until every branch has end-game craft beyond Captain as well as F-15J and F-14D offshoots here and there. They're going to pad this thing HARD.
Perhaps we'll even see non-superweapon aircraft like the XFA-27 and X-02 in the tech tree. After all, since they don't have lasers and burst missiles (like the FALKEN and Fenrir) they should be okay to put in (like with the ASF-X).
If they add the X-02 I hope it is a 750
Eh, I guess that was redundant to the post above.
I use the ASF-X lvl 5 as my main aircraft, it will definitely hold its own, I'm MVP at least 50% of the time in my sorties. You sacrifice a bit of speed for maneuverabiltiy, but I would argue that's far more important in dogfights anyway. Plus, the 6AAM lets you chase down large packs for massive damage (esp. w/Special Weapon Upgrade L - 40-50 shots). There are definitely better planes available, but this one can take you a long way and is fun as hell to fly in.
iii love the asf-x the speed may be down but the mobility and power are aamazing. I have a lot of lVl 10 plains that are way faster but tthey all turn like carp compared to the asf-x. This is 1 0f the top 3 plains in infinity and my most favorite. You can out turn any plain aand 1 shot almost every plain with regd missiles and 6arms if built right the only plains I can't 1 shot are t 50 yr 23
So this is years later but the ASF-X was my primary 1500cst multirole for the duration of my time in Ace Combat Infinity. It's officially one of my favorite aircraft from the franchise. I really like the LASMs in Infinity and this is a good platform for them. It's also very comfortable to fly, even if it's not the fastest. It's not a fighter though, you have to equip it so that it can output a lot of damage quickly to orange targets. That's how I did well in it. Now that my time in Infinity is essentially at an end, I can honestly say I'm glad I invested in getting it up to a good level (I ended at 9).
