Charge Assault is the first campaign mission of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. The player takes off and engages enemy bombers over Fort Grays Island.

Objectives

The player's only objective in this mission is to shoot down all Tu-95 and Tu-160 bombers. The bombers are marked as TGT and are located throughout the map. Each one is positioned in a way to help the player learn the basics of combat through a tutorial presented by on-screen text and other characters. Some of the bombers are defended by MiG-21bis's, but these are non-critical to the mission. The mission is completed once the player shoots down all bombers.

The maximum Time Bonus the player can earn in this mission is 10,230 points, awarded for completing the mission (including checkpoint restarts) in a total of 4 minutes and 50 seconds or less. If the player completes the mission in that time or faster, they only need 10,270 points from destroying enemies in the mission to earn the S rank. Since the bombers only account for 10,200 points, the rest must be earned by shooting down MIG-21s.
