"At some point... we all feel the limits of the human body.[1]"
Abyssal Dision

Enter Dision is the third campaign mission of the Japanese version of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere. This mission introduces two new characters into the plot: Abyssal Dision and Keith Bryan, two ace pilots from General Resource.

Mission Story[]

"Neucom's military activities have begun to quiet down, giving USEA a semblance of peace. However, SARF and General Resource have decided to conduct a joint training flight in case the conflict escalates. Despite not being actual combat, cutting corners was not an option, so as to strengthen their coordination with the General Resource unit.[2]"
Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere - Namco Official Guide Book

NC is slowing down, but we can't ease up.
Thus, in preparation for future deployments,
we're carrying out a joint training flight with a GR unit.
Don't slack off just because it's not real combat![3]

Mission Start[]

The first part of this training exercise centers around Air Combat Maneuvering (ACM) and introduces the player to the "Follow" mechanic used at key points later in the game.

The player has to follow Dision's plane through a series of maneuvers. Maintaining a close distance will increase the player's score, which will count towards the player's rank.

After 1:30, Dision will break off, and Keith will take over for the marksmanship portion of this exercise. The player is ordered to destroy three airborne decoys with guns only, and then three watchtowers.

Mission Update[]

A wave of enemy planes consisting of a R-501 and escort fighters will suddenly appear. Only the containers airdropped by the R-501 are marked as TGTs. Shooting down all containers will end the mission.

Enemy List[]

The following enemy list is taken from the Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere - Mission & World View Guide Book.[4]

A Rank[]

Earning a A rank on this mission requires earning 5,000 points or more before the mission update.[4] The player will earn 1,800 points by destroying the targets, so they must earn 3,200 points or more by following Dision closely at the start of the mission.

The environmental pollution by NC was prevented.
This exercise wasn't a waste of time after all.[5]
