Description
One of the foremost aircraft of the United States Armed Forces during the mid to late 20th century, the F-4 was originally conceived in 1952 as a successor to the F3H Demon to satisfy US Navy requirements for an all-weather fighter-bomber. A preliminary prototype, the XF4H-1, was made two years later and competed against the Vought XF8U-3 Crusader III, which it ultimately defeated. It was named after the FH-1 Phantom, a carrier aircraft previously produced by the company.

  +
F-4Es continued to be fielded in the Lighthouse War. A number of F-4Es were operated by the Erusean Air Force, mostly during the opening part of the war. During Operation Sighthound, the Glamrock Squadron utilized the aircraft in efforts to prevent the capture of the super-submarine Alicorn by Osean forces.AC7-SPM1
The Phantom II was adopted in 1962 on the orders of Robert McNamara as a unified aircraft for the USAF, including the Navy, Marine Corps and the Air Force, its main user. It was one of the United States' main fighters during the Vietnam War, and was exported to several other countries, including Japan, Australia and Turkey. It was retired from combat service by the US in 1996, but remains operational in other nations. The most produced variant was the F-4E of the USAF, of which over 5,000 were produced.

History
  +
Drone F-4Es were used by Martinez Security and the United States Navy for aerial combat practice, and the former had the regular aircraft in their inventory. The Valahia used the F-4E extensively during their attacks against Japan in the opening days of the Valahia Crisis, but retired them shortly thereafter.
In the Strangereal world, the F-4E was employed as a carrier-based fighter by several militaries, including the Independent States Allied Forces and the Aurelian Navy. Other countries, such as Belka and the Osean Federation, fielded them instead as conventional air force aircraft. During the Emmeria-Estovakia War, F-4Es were deployed in a limited manner by the Estovakian Air Force, and were supposedly retired from combat service after the Emmerian counterattack campaign.

  +
Infinity universe
Phantoms were also owned in the real world by military contractors Martinez Security and Arrows Air Defense and Security, the latter of which acquired them from the Advanced Automated Aviation Plants of Wernher and Noah Enterprises.

  +
The Phantom saw extremely limited use in the USEA Federation. A few units were seen in action over Tokyo, but most if not all units were shot down by the UNF.
  +
  +
As for the UNF, the F-4E was a very popular aircraft for starters, being one of the most flown aircraft during Operation Eternal Liberation.

Description

: General purpose, extra large, carrier-based fighter. Though turning performance can be a bit problematic because of the large size of the aircraft, it boasts top class speed performance among the older generation model aircrafts, a high level of durability, and has a large amount of space for armaments. Called the "Phantom II," it is the first aircraft shared by three branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: the Navy, Marines, and Air Force.

Revision as of 09:25, 27 February 2020

The F-4E Phantom II is a dual-seater multirole fighter aircraft. It debuted in Air Combat and has since become one of the series's most prominent aircraft, appearing as the starter aircraft in many titles.

History

Strangereal

In the Strangereal world, the F-4E was employed as a carrier-based fighter by several militaries, including the Independent States Allied Forces and the Aurelian Navy. Other countries, such as Belka and the Osean Federation, fielded them instead as conventional air force aircraft.

During the Emmeria-Estovakia War, F-4Es were deployed in a limited manner by the Estovakian and Emmerian Air Forces.[1][2] During the Invasion of Gracemeria, an Esotvakian F-4E fired the missile which destroyed the King's Bridge.[1] In the final battle of the war, General Gustav Dvornik's squadron also utilized the aircraft when they fled the Chandelier. However, Dvornik was shot down by Talisman shortly after takeoff.[3]

F-4Es continued to be fielded in the Lighthouse War. A number of F-4Es were operated by the Erusean Air Force, mostly during the opening part of the war. During Operation Sighthound, the Glamrock Squadron utilized the aircraft in efforts to prevent the capture of the super-submarine Alicorn by Osean forces.[4]

Joint Assault universe

Drone F-4Es were used by Martinez Security and the United States Navy for aerial combat practice, and the former had the regular aircraft in their inventory. The Valahia used the F-4E extensively during their attacks against Japan in the opening days of the Valahia Crisis, but retired them shortly thereafter.

Infinity universe

The Phantom saw extremely limited use in the USEA Federation. A few units were seen in action over Tokyo, but most if not all units were shot down by the UNF.

As for the UNF, the F-4E was a very popular aircraft for starters, being one of the most flown aircraft during Operation Eternal Liberation.

Game Analysis

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

"A large carrier-based fighter, designed as an interceptor. While numerous variants exist, the E-model was the one adopted by the air force. Based on craft designs of its time, it was developed as a fighter with standard missiles, and later reworked to incorporate machineguns—a stable of the E-model—based on feedback from sorties. Nowadays, it is an old-fashioned but classic fighter. It holds a number of flight records that are still impressive today. Adopted by numerous countries around the world, it is one of the best-selling jet fighters. Its global popularity means that it has numerous nicknames in addition to "Phantom II"."

"General purpose, extra large, carrier-based fighter. Though turning performance can be a bit problematic because of the large size of the aircraft, it boasts top class speed performance among the older generation model aircraft, a high level of durability, and has a large amount of space for armaments. Called the "Phantom II", it is the first aircraft shared by three branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: the Navy, Marines, and Air Force."
