The F/A-18F -Red Devils-

is a modified version of the F/A-18F Super Hornet featuring the livery of the United States Marine Corps Fighter Squadron VMFA-232, nicknamed the "Red Devils".

This livery was available as a DLC skin for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, and later appeared in Ace Combat Infinity as a Special Aircraft. As of August 20, 2020 the skin is also available in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown as part of the 25th Anniversary Update.

"A special version of the F/A-18F based on Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 232 (VMFA-232). Nicknamed the "Red Devils", they are the most decorated fighter squadron within the US Marine Corps. This high performance, multirole supersonic combat jet features the distinctive "Red Devil" insignia on the vertical tail fins.
It is the destiny of pilots who command this aircraft to traverse across various battlefields engaging in challenging missions.

The aircraft was only available as an Online Co-Op Missions Ranking Tournament reward in early December 2014.

Trivia

At this skin's release to Ace Combat 7, a glitch caused the aircraft to glow when being selected for Cape Rainy Assault or Dark Blue. This has since been patched in Update 1.41. However, a purposeful recreation of this glitch was added as a skin for the X-02S Strike Wyvern in the game's Second Anniversary Update and ADFX-01 Morgan in the Cutting-edge Aircraft Series DLC.
