The F-15E -ACTIVE STRIPES- is a downloadable aircraft variant featured in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. It was released as the second aircraft of PACK #01 in November 1, 2007 at the price of $2.49 (200 MSP, pre-MSP retirement).
Overview[]
The ACTIVE STRIPES is the third DLC variant of the F-15E, following the "Mobius" and "Yellow Squadron"-themed versions exclusive to European/Japanese copies of Fires of Liberation. As the name implies, the aircraft is based on the experimental F-15 ACTIVE unit featured in Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies, itself the precursor of the F-15S/MTD featured in later games. Coincidentally, it is the special paint scheme of the F-15 ACTIVE in AC04.
The aircraft is outfitted with a new lightweight airframe, which provides it with greater freedom of movement and better turning ability. However, the new airframe is less resistant to damage, and negatively affects the Strike Eagle's combat capabilities, speed and stability. In addition, its weapons arsenal is reduced.
