Merokyara was a mobile service run by Namco, in which users could access various materials such as exclusive screenshots, wallpapers, or ringtones related to Namco games. Including taxes, the service cost 315 yen per month. The service occasionally hosted materials related to the Ace Combat series.[1][2]
History[]
Merokyara was created by Namco in 2001 under the name "Namco EZ Merokyara." The software was developed and based on EZweb[1], a mobile content and e-mail delivery platform created in the late 1990s by Japanese telecommunications company KDDI Corporation.
In 2005, users could access materials related to Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War.[1] In 2008, materials related to Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation were made available.[2]
