Gambit is the first mission of Ace Combat 2.

Briefing

It's a rush sortie mission. We have received information that an enemy invasion unit is approaching our front base. It is a small unit with bombers as its main force. Take-off immediately, and shoot them down!

Target: B-52 bomber unit

Objectives

This is a basic interception mission, and does not pose too great a difficulty. The F-4 Phantom II is currently the only aircraft available, but is enough for the task at hand.

The targets, two B-52 bombers and two B-1B Lancers are divided in two pairs, with two F-4s and A-4 Skyhawks escorting them. The bombers move in a circuit pattern from above the allied aircraft carrier to bomb the airbase in the island.
