This article is about an in-game mission. For the in-universe event, see Rescue of Pennant Squadron.

Green Bird is the fourteenth mission of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy.

Briefing

We've received a distress call. Allied units were on a training mission over water west of Scofield Plateau, when they were attacked by Rebel hostiles. Scofield Plateau has always been recognized as housing enemy weapons manufacturing plants. Those rookies' training must've alerted the Rebel defense forces. Those kids won't be able to fend off an attack on their own. Scarface Squadron, head to the combat airspace and attack the enemy units. We need to get those Allied pilots out of there. [1]

Objectives

Initial

The mission's primary targets are several Rebel fighters that are attacking the Allied Pennant Squadron. If the player takes too long to destroy the hostile aircraft, the Allied aircraft may be shot down. Destroying all enemy fighters advances the mission.

Mission Update

A Z.O.E YF-23A will appear and shoot down a Pennant aircraft. This enemy is a primary target. Destroying the YF-23A ends the mission.

Debriefing

Pennant Squadron has returned safely to base. The Pennant Squadron leader sends his regards. Job well done. Every time that mysterious red unit appears, it's like it gets even tougher. Wonder why that is? But you took him down, so we may not get another chance to find out. The Allied Forces will begin a large-scale invasion of the Rebel army's temporary capital, Saint Ark. And we were chosen to spearhead the attack. I'm counting on you guys. Show 'em what you've got, Scarface Squadron.[1]
