A heavy command cruiser is a type of aircraft mainly produced in the Strangereal world.
A common characteristic shared by all such aircraft is a massive airframe and the ability to serve as a mobile base in wartime operations. In addition, these frequently share a capability of transporting and launching aircraft. The concept is closely linked and sometimes overlaps with Aerial warships.
The first known aircraft of such class was the XB-0 Hresvelgr built by the Belkan Federation. A similar aircraft was fielded by rebels waging an insurrection against the FCU in southern Usea in 1995. Another such aircraft, the P-1112 Aigaion, was built by the Federal Republic of Estovakia using Belkan technology.
In the Infinity universe, the USEA Federation, like Estovakia, uses the Aigaion as its operational heavy command cruiser, first seeing combat during Operation Override (despite being shot down in the engagement). From the start of Operation Eternal Liberation, USEA began to field a number of airframes, some of which have improved weapon systems and armor denoted by its paint job (for example, a red coat of paint indicates that it features the aforementioned upgrades over the initial model while the gold and black coats introduce the Tactical Laser System as an additional defensive weapon).
