Khesed Island saw conflicts early in the [[Anean Continental War]]. After the initial [[Estovakia]]n attack, a large portion of Emmerian military forces retreated to the Island. Two-thirds of the island quickly came under Estovakian control. In an attempt to finish off the Emmerians, the [[Estovakian Air Force]] launched an air raid on Campagna Airport in Vitoze, a city in southern Khesed. However, all ten of the bombers were shot down by the [[28th Fighter Squadron]], also known as Garuda Team.

After that battle, which was Emmeria's first victory, Emmeria launched its first offensive, attacking Sipli Field in central Khesed. [[Warlock Separate Battalion]], [[Quox Armored Battalion]], and [[Steel Gunners Battalion]] attacked Estovakian ground forces. With air support, they were able to defeat the Estovakians. The Emmerians then pushed north and attacked Bartolomeo Fortress on Mt. Marcello. During the attack, two of the pilots of the elite EAF squadron [[Strigon]] appeared, but were shot down by [[Garuda One]].

*If Snake Pit's Operation is completed, He will follow you as Snake Pit's escort fighters will continue escorting him instead of the player. This means that the escort fighters will not participate in an Allied Support when the player requests one. However, if the player were to fly near enemy fighters or ground units, the escort fighters will engage them at their own will as long as Snake Pit is around. This is useful when the player forgets(or chooses not to) to use Allied Support or does not have the gauge filled up to at least one bar.

Khesed Island is a large island located off the west coast of Anea.[1] The island is home to the medieval city of Vitoze,[2] the snowy plain of Sipli Field[3] and Mount Marcello, where the massive Republic of Emmeria Army installation—Bartolomeo Fortress—is situated.[4]

History

Following the loss of Gracemeria, the Emmerians steadily lost ground to the Estovakian offensive. Eventually, they were pushed back to Vitoze, a city in the southwest corner of Khesed Island.[5]

On November 24, 2015, a large-scale formation of Estovakian bombers headed towards Campagna airport in Vitoze in an attempt to finish off the Emmerians. However, the bombing ended in failure thanks to the efforts of Garuda Team.[2]

Khesed Island Retreat

The Emmerian retreat to Vitoze

After the battle of Vitoze, the Estovakian Air Force in Khesed was severely weakened; as a result, the Emmerians sent several armored battalions to recapture Sipli Field in central Khesed three days later. The armored battalions and their air support were able to destroy the Estovakian forces in Sipli Field, which resulted in the Estovakians being forced to retreat from the front line to Bartolomeo Fortress on Mount Marcello.[3]

One month later, the Emmerians launched an offensive to capture Bartolomeo Fortress and drive the Estovakians off of Khesed Island once and for all. Despite the arrival of enemy reinforcements, including two members of the infamous Strigon Team, Bartolomeo Fortress was recaptured, and Khesed was once again under Emmerian control.[4]

After the recapture of Bartolomeo Fortress, the Emmerians began preparations for a landing on the mainland, and Khesed would not see any more battles for the rest of the war.[6]
