"We'll do our best, but tell them I'll be seeing them once we land."
― Leonard Baelz[1]

First Lieutenant Leonard Baelz (レオナード・ベルツ) was an Independent State Allied Forces soldier during the Continental War depicted in Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies.

Biography[]

Baelz took part in many ground operations against the Erusean Army during the Continental War. However, he could never get air support due to interference from Stonehenge, leading to a feeling of bitterness towards the ISAF Air Force.[2]

On January 24, 2005, Baelz led the 32nd Marine Corps Regiment Unit B during the ISAF's Operation Bunker Shot. Baelz and his unit landed on Crowne Beach ahead of the other ISAF units.[2] His last communication was reporting a squadron of Erusean A-10A Thunderbolt IIs approaching Crowne Beach; he was killed in action shortly afterward. Sergeant Collins assumed his post.[1]
