  • Please change your PS4 system settings to save screenshots as PNGs instead of JPGs. This gives us the highest quality for image uploads on the wiki.

    • Thanks for the heads-up, wilco.

UPDATE: Will add today some screenshots I took over the weekend in JPEG-Format (will change my PS4 settings tonight) and hope you understand that I don't won't to revisit the early AC 5 missions yet another time.

In general the screenshots from the AC 5 DLC version yield a much higher resolution than the PS2 standard definition ones which IMHO could / should be 'retired' once corresponding or equal ones are available, but I'll gladly leave that to you and others so I can instead focus on more 'frontline' photography.

P.S. Has the SSTO shuttle gallery been 'sealed'? Wanted to upload two additional (remastered?) images from AC 5 DLC but the option to add more images doesn't show... :-(

    • This is what I was talking about in Thread:96911#6. You can go to Special:Images, which has an upload button in the top-right that takes you to Special:Upload, and you can upload images there. Then you can go to the article, edit it in source mode, and add the file names to the gallery as you desire. This way, you don't have to add each individual image in separate edits especially thanks to the preview option.

  • Hi. I notice you have made multiple edits to Gunther recently, in particular to the trivia section.

Please try to consolidate your edits to a page in one single edit, and use the preview function before publishing. Multiple edits floods activity log and page histories, which may potentially cause difficulty for us to keep track of changes.

We will very much appreciate it if you can follow our advices above!

    • I don't know what you mean by "all I get is a text preview". You can add images that have already been uploaded to the wiki in your same edit as well. If you're using VisualEditor, maybe try the source code editor, or vice versa.

    • Here's an example. Why didn't you add all three of these images in the same single edit? There's nothing preventing you from doing that, neither on Wikipedia nor on Fandom. https://acecombat.fandom.com/index.php?title=Basset_Space_Center&diff=247703&oldid=241457

  • Just wanted to say those images of Fort Grays Island you got for the wiki were really good. Thanks!

    • Imagine its plot relevance. Newfield Island was going to be THE image of craters in the game because it was the very first mission.

Obviously, we're just guessing at this point -- we won't know unless we ask TPTB themselves, namely Kono or someone else who worked on the 04 website.

    • I noticed that the Ulysses section has been upgraded with crater images which I like a lot, just added the official map of impact sites in Anea under "other craters" but it could also be used for the text featuring Anea.

But respectfully I find myself unable to concur with your decision to declare the large crater image just as concept art for Newfield Island and feel compelled to elaborate:

Was it original concept art for Newfield Island? Possible, I don't know the details.

BUT the moment this very large crater (obviously NOT the Anderson Crater we see in the AC 4 gameplay) ended up on the cover of the fictional magazine "The Graphic Colors of the World" it became in-universe canon, i.e. showing a very large crater (Goldberg Crater is merely one of the largest, i.e. not THE largest) and the addition of the AWACS plane in a second (!) illustration apparently was intended to tell us that the image was taken from a very high altitude, emphasizing the size of the impact crater.

In other words: What has or may have been concept art for the Anderson Crater / Newfield Island was reused / 'canonized' by TPTB to provide us with a view of a very large and 'new' crater whose name and precise location remains currently still unknown (because it appears on the cover of the fictional magazine's "craters" issue I'd believe it's probably the largest one on Strangereal).

Regarding your comment on my conspiracy theory on the Megalith page:

Considering the size of Strangereal Earth it is objectively highly (if not astronomically) improbable that an asteroid fragment would impact near an FCU airbase. It's even more improbable that an asteroid fragment would make a pin-point impact ONTO an FCU airbase (Saint Ark). With AC 7 we have yet another near-miss impact (i.e. FCU's Fort Grays Island air base) which made me think "WTF".

Somehow I don't buy the story that Erusean's Megalith facility was NOT operational during the Ulysses Impact Event. To me it rather looks as if some guys in the Erusean military abused the UIE and asteroid fragments in an attempt to destroy FCU airbases (something that couldn't be made public, of course, imagine the outcry of the Erusean population that the military didn't use Megalith to protect them...).
