"Attention, all vessels. The only thing that exists between Yuktobania and Osea is hatred."
― Yuktobanian Fleet Commander

Operation: Glory Horn, also known as the Battle of the Ceres Ocean, was one of the final battles of the Circum-Pacific War, and the penultimate battle of the OFS Kestrel.

Prelude

On December 29, 2010, a large force of Yuktobanian Navy ships sailed toward the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet in the Ceres Ocean. Captain Andersen and Yuktobanian Prime Minister Nikanor, both on board the OFS Kestrel, called out to the Yuktobanian Fleet. The Prime Minister announced that he was on the Osean aircraft carrier OFS Kestrel and that he planned to restore peace between "our Yuktobania and the country of Osea."

The Yuktobanian Fleet Commander didn't want peace between the two countries, said that Nikanor had sided with the Osean Federation, and ordered his ships to take out the OFS Kestrel even with the Prime Minister on board. The captain of the Krivak-class frigate YNS Pitomnik didn't agree with the orders and asked the Fleet Commander to stand down, stating that they don't know what they were fighting for anymore. In response, the Fleet Commander ordered his ships to sink the YNS Pitomnik, and two of them swiftly did so. The captain of the Sovremenny-class destroyer YNS Gumrak then declared they cannot follow a "fleet commander willing to sink one of his own ships" and defected to the OFS Kestrel battle group with two Yuktobanian destroyers: Chuda and Dub.

Battle

Captain Andersen recognized the Yuktobanian defectors and offered them his gratitude. He ordered the OFS Kestrel battle group to engage the Admiral Tsanev fleet, and the Razgriz Air Command Squadron launched for support (the OFS Kestrel's CIC's IFF info was connected to the Razgriz's HUD so that they can identify who's friendly and who's enemy). The ships and fighters began to attack the Yuktobanian fleet. Some Yuke fighters were also launched to engage the Kestrel's fighters, but the pilots were all afraid of the Razgriz.

About halfway through the battle, an Osean battle group lead by OFS Barbett (another OMDF aircraft carrier and OFS Kestrel's third sister ship) detected upon the battle. After listening in for a moment, OFS Barbett's Captain think that OFS Kestrel battle group is sided with the Yukes and recognized the OFS Kestrel battle group and the Demons of Razgriz as traitors and has no idea that OFS Kestrel battle group was working under President Harling's command. The rogue Osean battle group enter firing range at OFS Kestrel battle group and three defector ships. Some Osean fighters also seen and engaged the Razgriz, but all rogue forces were wipe out.

Result

After this battle, the OFS Kestrel and the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet officially out from the Osean Navy with the Yuktobanian defector ships, set up a completely separate force. Their only goal was to defeat Belka and prevent their plans from succeeding.

Sometime during or after the battle, Prime Minister Nikanor escaped the OFS Kestrel, most likely on a helicopter, to join Osean President Vincent Harling at Bright Hill, Osea for a call for peace.

Trivia

  • Various other Yuktobanian ships were mentioned during the battle, but not seen in the game. Among the ships from the enemy fleet are the Granat, Zavtra, Svabodney, and Boyky; among the Yuke ships who defected to the Kestrel are the Bystry & the Budusheye.
