Overview
The R-311 Remora was developed as the answer to the General Resource LTD. RF-12A2 Blackbird II. Designed for the sole purpose of escorting the R-531 Mobura t0ransports, the R-311 is extremely light, making it capable of being transported by the R-531s. When the Moburas came under fire, they dispatched their R-311s as they continued to their target. The R-311s sacrificed maneuverability for speed, in order to stay aloft in the Stratosphere.
The R-311 saw limited action in 2045, but were proven to lessen the number of R-531 Transports shot down. NEU ace Cynthia Fitzgerald had her own custom version, known as the R-311-C, but she did not operate it regularly.
Remora is the name for a symbiotic fish that attaches it's self to and cleans the bodies of larger fish such as sharks and manta rays.
