The R-311 Remora is an stratosphere-level fighter craft developed by Neucom Incorporated.
Overview
The R-311 was first built as a Neucom counterpart to the General Resource-built RF-12A2 Blackbird II. The Remora's task was to escort R-531 Mobura transports at stratosphere altitudes. The Remora's low weight allowed it to be carried by Mobura (thus making the Remora a parasite aircraft). In order to stay airborne in the stratosphere, Remora have been forced to reduce maneuverablity in lieu of speed. In a side note, the mainframe of the R-311 Remora resembles that of an R-103 Delphinus III, suggesting a relation.
The R-311 saw limited action in the 2045 corporate war, nevertheless the Remora contributed by decreasing the number of Moburas destroyed in combat. Cynthia Fitzgerald of the Neucom Emergency Unit owned a personalized Remora, codenamed R-311-C, albeit it was not used very frequently.
