The Ace Combat series often makes references and allusions to Greek mythology.

Hecatonchires[]

In Greek mythology, the Hekatonkheires or hecatonchires are a trio of giant creatures of massive size and great strength, who helped Gaia overthrow the Titans during the Titanomachy. Born as the children of Uranus and Gaia, the hecatonchires are Aigaion the Sea Goat, Kottos the Striker and Gyges the Big-limbed.

In Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, the Estovakian Aerial Fleet consists of five airships, all named after the Hecatonchires: the P-1112 Aigaion Heavy Command Cruiser, the P-1113 Kottos Electronic Warfare Platform, and the P-1114 Gyges Fire Support Platform.

Naiad[]

In mythology, the naiads were nymphs who presided over fountains. Their bodies are linker to their body of water, meaning that if said body was drained, they would die.

In Ace Combat X, the plot of the mission "Ice Bound" centers on an Aurelian submarine, the Naiad, which must be escorted by the player after an underwater mine forces it to surface.

Lamia and Seiren[]

In Greek mythology, Lamia was a queen of Libya who became a child-eating demon. In the other hand, Seiren is an alternate spelling for "siren", itself a seductress who lured sailors to the islands they inhabited through her music and voice.

In Ace Combat 6, the Ace of Aces version of "Vitoze Aerial Defense" includes a pair of Estovakian Air Force squadrons, Lamia and Seiren, both of which fly EF-2000 Typhoon aircraft.
