Resistance is the 48th mission in the Japanese version of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere. It is the first mission along the Neucom (II) story arc.

Mission Story

"Fi and the Player declined Cynthia's invitation, choosing to stay at Neucom instead. Cynthia, who had withdrawn from the combat zone to join the coup, was declared Killed in Action. Neucom decides to take on “Ouroboros”, the organization behind the coup, before fighting General Resource, and orders Fi and the Player to sortie. She sorties out, determined to bring Cynthia back in any way possiblee."

Briefing

Now that a coup has broken out,
we at Neucom will strike Ouroboros, the coup
instigators, before engaging General Resource.
Shoot down all Ouroboros fighters
coming from their aerial carrier.

Objectives

Mission Start

The missions's primary targets are two squadrons of XFA-36A Games. Shooting them all down causes the Mission Update to occur.

Mission Update

Once the fighters have been shot down, the Sphyrna appears. Destroying its four target points to deal significant damage to it ends the mission. If the player destroys these points within 90 seconds of the Mission Update occurring leads to Radio Silence. If the player takes longer than 90 seconds from the Mission Update to destroy the points, the next mission will be Revenge.

Debriefing

We succeeded in lowering Ouroboros' war potential.
However, the Sphyrna has not yet fallen!

A Rank

An A Rank is obtained in this mission by destroying at least 17 enemies and deals significant damage to the Sphyrna within 90 seconds of the Mission Update occurring.

Trivia

• Interestingly, even though the results of this mission are "To Be Continued", if the player clear the mission more than 90 seconds after the Mission Update/Update Target, the rating obtained is D like when the mission result is "Mission Over". (Same goes for Heart of the Serpent mission if player fail to deal sufficient damage to target update)
