Rolling Thunder is mission 5A in Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception.

Overview

The mission is a multirole of an escort mission, air-to-ground attack and altitude restriction mission. The escort part is where Davis Unit must be protected from AH-64 helicopters, as well as any ground forces. The air-to-ground part is for the destruction of enemy facilites and ground forces. Lastly, the alititude restriciton comes from the Gleipnir launching Shock Wave Ballistic Missiles frequently, requiring the player to go below 2500 feet if Crux starts counting down.

Completion of this mission rewards the MiG-31 Foxhound and Emergency APS tuning part for purchase.

Two specially marked targets are present in this mission. First, an F-16C ace named "Ice", which is summoned when half of the ground targets are destroyed. Second, there is a star-marked hangar in the northeast of the mission area, where other mandatory ground targets are found. Destruction of this hangar rewards the Destructive Missile tuning part for purchase.
