The Skully Islands are a large island chain located in the southern area of Usea. They are located east of Seals Bridge, itself south of the Usean mainland. As of the late 20th century, Skully Islands was under the jurisdiction of the FCU.
Description
History
Skully Islands insurrection
In 1995, the local government was overthrown by terrorist forces. In response, Robert Taylor, the newly appointed commander of the Southern District of the FCU military, was ordered to crush the uprising. The Scarface Squadron was hired to bolster their military.[2]
Usean Continental War
On July 7th 1998, Scarface Squadron was tasked with destroying the rebels' 2nd Fleet. During the mission, they encountered the fleet's Cocoon Squadron and were soon engaged in a dogfight. Suddenly, a new aircraft was detected on radar, later revealed to be a ZOE unit. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Cocoon Squadron temporarily retreated while Scarface Squadron engaged the ZOE unit. After the ZOE unit retreated due to battle damage, Cocoon Squadron returned and engaged the Scarface Squadron for one final dogfight. Scarface Squadron emerged victorious and the operation was a success.[1]

- On the official Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies website, AC04Web, a mistranslation of Japanese material led to the Skully Islands being referred to by fans as "Scali". The error in translation was made apparent by the localized release of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy.
