The Sortie Fuel system is a unique gameplay mechanic to Ace Combat Infinity that restricts the player to participating in a number of missions equivalent to how much fuel they own. All missions in Infinity in every game mode, except Test Flight, require the use of one fuel per mission.
Description
There are two types of fuel: Supplied Fuel and Stocked Fuel.
Supplied Fuel is given to players for free at timed intervals; when one Supplied Fuel is used, the player is given another Supplied Fuel four hours afterward. A player can only have three Supplied Fuel at any given time.
Stocked Fuel is earned through Challenges, from random drops, or by purchasing it with real money. Stocked Fuel is unlimited, but does not automatically regenerate. Using Stocked Fuel will award slightly extra credits and will automatically add some bonus research to the aircraft the player uses within that mission, but there are no effects on the mission itself whether Stocked or Supplied Fuel is used.

Discounts
One-week-long discounts on Stocked Fuel have taken place sporadically to promote certain tournaments in Infinity. Typically, these discounts reduce the prices of 11 Stocked Fuel and 60 Stocked Fuel in all regions by 20%.[2] The list of Ranking Tournaments that have featured this discount on Stocked Fuel is as follows:

Forced Sortie
Forced Sortie logo
Every weekend, starting on Fridays at 4 AM GMT and ending on Mondays at 4 AM GMT, the Forced Sortie event takes place. Forced Sortie allows players to earn more rewards by spending extra fuel.
- Using 2 fuel instead of 1 will award the player with 2.1x credits, 2.1x research, two Limited-Time Drops and 2x Ranking Tournament points.
- Using 3 fuel instead of 1 will award the player with 3.5x credits, 3.5x research, three Limited Time Drops and 3x Ranking Tournament points
Players cannot spend more than three fuel cells on one mission.
Forced Sortie is an optional feature - players do not have to participate in the event, and can continue to use one fuel cell per mission as normal, which will not affect their rewards or statistics in any way.
Forced Sortie also features quotes in a notification in multiplayer lobbies.
