This template is used to standardize citations to any source published on the web. It should be used within <ref></ref> tags.

Usage

The basic formatting with only the required parameters is as follows:

Parameters

Parameter Required? Usage
url Yes The full URL to the source
title Yes The title of the source. This can be the article's title if one exists, or the page title in the browser.
transtitle No A translation of title from the original language to English
author No The author(s) of the source
date No The date the source was posted or published, in the following format: 31 January 2000
website Yes The website the source is hosted on. This can be linked. Italics are automatically applied.
access-date Yes The date the source was accessed for the citation, in the following format: 31 January 2000
quote No The unedited text from the source that is relevant to the citation
transquote No A translation of quote from the original language to English
archiveurl No The full URL to an archived version of the source
archivedate Depends The date the archive was created, in the following format: 31 January 2000
This is required if archiveurl is set.
