Well I bought a lot of fuel in the first place, but that was also partly because I got a nice bonus with my paycheck during that week, as for fuel burning I burned around 250, from supplied, stocked and fuel I got from random drop, what I did was as soon as Forced Sortie was active(Friday in this case) I burned until I was in top 70, then stopped and went back on during the night too burn until I was in 23rd place, since my goal was too reach 21~25th place by the first day, then all I did was check my ranking during the morning, burned in the morning until I was in top 50 again, then made sure I made it back in top 21st~25th place by the end of the day, I burned like that morning and night, I did that during the entire tourney, securing early 200th is key too making it faster, as it will be harder too budge you from top 200th, it didn't happen too me this tourney but if you feel like your losing too many positions you can burn more then you normally would, apart from that, just make sure too burn supplied fuel, do 3 runs at night and 3 runs in morning so that you get challenges done, more specifically the 6 runs in 48 hours. As it will maximise the amount of fuel you get, when you burn with stocked though, just make sure you reach your rank goal of that morning/night/day , rooms I just joined any 0/8 rooms that were open, also went for the occasional 0/6 avoided the smaller ones because of low chance of getting S rank, I tried too stick with 2000+ ranks as much as I could but sometimes there were no other room so had too join lower ranks(1800~1900 and that one 1628 that I had mentioned before), it is VERY important not too be picky with rooms, as it WILL cost you the rank you are aiming for, as it did for me when I was doing the "The Unsung War" ranking tourney, as for missions, just avoid the (HARD) missions and you'll be ok, lastly do not underestimate how other players might want too go for the -knight-, don't take chances, don't go lightly, and you'll be okay, it might take a while and it will be stressful during the whole event time but the payout will be worth it if you put in the effort and don't give up, good luck!
It's interesting that you joined "crowded" rooms, where I usually try to stay clear as much as possible because most likely a good part of my targets will be stolen by someone else, resulting in a loss of points.
Also, it's worth noticing that you weren't playing 20 hours a day, which is something extremely important because at least for the first days I won't be able to spend all my time playing Ace Combat.
My greatest concern is reaching as fast as possible the top ~20 positions... if I can make it within tomorrow night, I shall continue, otherwise I'll stop before wasting more fuel than I want to.
Well most people can't keep up with me when I'm playing hard so getting kill stolen wasn't a problem, since I never played with you however I would not know how you play, but if you feel smaller rooms are better for you go for it, however you will risk not getting the S rank bonus, which is pretty significant (can contribute too 20% of ranking points after each sortie), and too be honest I haven't played this hard since the Ridgeback tournament, also, its best not too burn ANY stocked fuel until forced sortie fuel, you don't want too run out of fuel early, and the TRUE ranks will only show themselves after the first full day of forced sortie, when everyone in the world (NA, EU, CHN/RU, JPN) will have burned for their first day, so until then most people in top 200 are not the real top 200, in fact most of them will not even be in top 200 because they will have had wasted all their fuel before forced sortie. And yes, no matter how hard the tournament, you won't have too play 20 hours a day, only the tryhards that spend 1000$ per tournament do so.
Well Scarface lasted one day more then normal, so I strongly doubt it will last like mine did, so there will only be 3 days of Forced sortie, your usual Friday, Saturday and Sunday, also, due too the fact that this tourney has come right after a major one, you can expect less competition, but how much competition will vary, and 224 fuel should be enough, but if you don't feel it is, another 50+10 would not hurt.
I guess I can already give up. Forced sorties are ALREADY in effect, and today is definitely not friday. Unless every single player in the entire world decides not to use them until that day, I am fairly sure I won't have enough fuel to keep up with them.
Not BN, PA*, and wow already Force Sortie? That's a first actually, never happened before that forced sortie started right off, and really just check the scores by Friday, if its only around 100k then you still have a chance.
Don't look at first, first is almost always the same guy who's either wasting all his money on this game and will up on the street soon, or is rich, either way first won't determine it, just keep checking that top 200.
Forced Sorties starting now really sucks.. I participated in the Razgriz event, which i gave up when, in the last day morning, the ranking points increased like crazy.. i was in the top 200 the day before.. I calculate that to get there i would have needed to start with more than 350 stocked fuel, because i did with 250
So, in order to help you, i guess this Wyvern event will end with more than 400k ranking points, like Razgriz and the New Year did (NY had 9 forced sorties days).
