  • This has been occuring all afternoon today, whether I'm hosting or joining a random lobby. Anywhere from after the first 30 seconds to the last 30 seconds of any game, "Failure to communicate with PSN" or "Connection to host was lost" keeps happening to all the players in the lobby, whether 4 player 4 bots, or 8 players. This prevents anyone from fully completing a match in order to rank in events or complete challenges. Sony and Project Aces still continue to not respond to any feedback we give them in terms of fixing their crappy PS3 servers and we pilots continue to suffer from incomplete games, some which result in the game thinking we are disconnecting on purpose therefore our mission completion ranks go down when it is never our fault.

Am I not the only one who is experiencing this kind of BS while playing ACI (or any other game for that matter)?

    • That's been happening to me the last couple of saturdays. I'd get maybe one game in then every single time for 4 or 5 matches I'd get kicked out of matches, just like you say. It's a pretty crappy time for something like that to happen, especially if you're trying to place in a tournament.

    • There will be x6 supplied fuel limit during Mobius event. If you can, schedule all 6 of your sorties into one highly playable session, one least likely to have disconnection.

    • Even when I'm playing in a time of day where there is supposed to be less PSN traffic, in morning/early afternoon hours, I still keep losing connection with PSN, even though there is nothing wrong with my end of the connection; not my PS3, not my router, not my internet provider, which by the way is Verizon Quantum Fios inside the United States therefore the best internet in the world.

    • I keep having those problems. Most of times I simply fail to join a room or to start the mission.

    • I think we should list our time ranges so we can take note when to play and when not to. Start with mine:

The time is all listed in GMT. So, you have to adjust it yourself, especially for those living in US as there are multiple time zones.

My best time is around 12AM. I have no disconnection around it. The condition deteriorates a bit around 8AM but it's still playable. Any time other than those hours is borderline unplayable.

    • I play from Pacific Standard Time, Los Angeles area, California, United States. I usually get up between 8am and 9am, my daily reward cycle turns up at 5pm (as of Daylight Saving Time now being active), and events usually start on a 9pm (PST/DST) and end on a 1am (PST/DST). I usually have the most trouble connecting, playing, and finding rooms in the earlier and later hours, I think it gets worse whenever my mom and sis are watching Netflix in the living room. The living room is where our internet router is sitting, and our smart TV is sitting next to it. I play from my bedroom about 10 feet away, according to PS3's connection test, my wireless gets a 77% signal, which should be more than adequate to play without connection problems on my end.

Here are what I believe to be the best solutions:

      1. Sony and Bandai Namco fix and update their respective servers, and start building more servers for REGIONAL players, that way we don't have to worry about Japanese or European traffic interfering with American players.

      2. If I could purchase another router and perhaps have access to the internet line, maybe I wouldn't have to worry about mom and sis' Netflix chilling sucking away a portion of my connection capability.

    • So, currently your time zone is GMT-7 (DST added). My best hour is right when the daily reward shows up. If you find it real bad when playing at 5PM-1AM PST (or 2PM-1AM widest estimation), or you can't play at all within those hours, then my option falls flat.

    • My last problems happened when it was 12 AM here (which should be like 11 PM GMT). Duh

    • Oh. Italy. I guess my range is less/not applicable to you. Sadly, EU has disadvantage when connecting to US West and Japan. Most things happen in either those two locations.

If only someone can tell us where ACI's servers are.

    • Around 8am, I'm is having so much trouble communicating with PSN or connecting to ACI servers. Later in the afternoon it's gets slightly easier, but not that much better. And then later hours from 8pm onwards it gets hard again.

    • The ups and downs resemble mine but the quality is obviously worse. You talked about having to go through oceans back in the first thread. Did you hear anything about undersea cable fault from your ISP? Something could be wrong there recently.

    • Today, I was able to sign in and get the bonus, but in terms of staying connected long enough for enough people to show up, start the match, complete it, end it, and get back into the lobby, at 5pm PST/DST is almost impossible.

        Loading editor
    • I checked again, as of 11pm, "acquiring or uploading latest information" is almost impossible. Even if I did, I don't play when my connection bars are not blue.. So it turns out that I can only play within a 6-8 hour window during the day. that Fing sucks

    • At this rate, there's not much we can do. We could use more of such info from anyone else. Better if from US West or west of Japan (not as far as Africa). Till then, reschedule if possible. It's really saddening.

    • I've just got an awful error (surprisingly without consequences so far):

"Unable to communicate with Play Station Network: returning to main menu".

I was about to start a mission, so I can't really be mad... still, I am quite shocked!

    • Ok, worst case scenario: PS3 crashed.

A File-System check was performed on reboot, no errors detected (and gladly I never leave a disc inside the console).

ACI was launched normally and the loading screens showed no issues. No penalties either since I was not on a mission when the crash occurred (I was trying to join a room when the console froze).

EDIT: I am currently unable to find a room or to start a mission if I am lucky enough to find a couple of online players.

    • I don't know if there's a real term for it, or if it is the manifesttaion of other activity (I'll call it Zombie Hosts), but today I've been playing since about 1 PM EST. I've run into three players multiple times over the last 3 hours who have been hosting a room, but not sortying. They just sit there, their icon in sleep-mode. I know it hppens sometimes, where a hosst will step away, or they'll sit there stubbornly waiting for a room to fill. But the same hosts, in the same room, on the same map, for three hours, doesn't seem normal. I've continually ended up quick matching into their rooms, and it's very frustrating to know that when there is already so much trouble finding rooms, you'd have hosts sititng there lettiing a room fill up and leave epople waiting around for no reason.

Nothing new here, they are indeed annoying. The best way to avoid them is to simply remember who they are so you won't join their rooms anymore.

    • @TLMguy, unfortunately, my common method of fnding matches is just quick match. Sure, after the first time I know not to sit around there anymore in a given room, but there's no real way to avoid wasting time joining their room in the first place only to leave it. Not to mention their clogging up the works on an apparently already resourcce limited room.

If I could suggest, I believe it might be beneficial for PA to institute a timeout feature, where after 15-30mins of inactivity by the host, 30-45 min w/out a sortie, the room is automatically closed. Just a thought on this particular problem. If the suspicion of DNS attacks are true, such a timeout function should help dependiing on the attack method. If it's just an oversaturated server situation, turning over stalled-out rooms should alleviate some of these problems to an extent as well.

Those noobs are trolls and nothing more. They waste lobby rooms, server ping, and bring more lag to our connections worldwide. Hopefully Bandai Namco will make a feature where if the host does not sortie the lobby within 5 minutes of creating a room, it is automatically disconnected with the message "Host refuses to sortie, returning to main menu." Then that host cannot create a room for the next 24 hours.

    • Now I'm suffering from it too. This new update better improve the hosting system in this game.

    • I'm not sure if it's just the Ace Combat Infinity servers. I've also been encountering random disconnects on Gran Turismo 6 and Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn, in addition to Ace Combat Infinity.

    • Are they Bandai Namco games?

Indeed. Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn, however, is a Namco/Bandai product, which also makes me wonder why there hasn't been an Ace Combat Infinity/Gundam franchise collaboration.

    • It's happening yet again, but this time it's mostly "An error occurred while checking player information." Even if I did manages to create a room, I never play unless my bars are blue. The Japanese players are hogging all of the server connections and power as we are now starting the new "Cherry Blossom" event, preventing US and European players from being able to participate in the event, complete challenges, or even play casually.

    • Aprile 2016 - Once again I got booted from a mission AND I was warned for leaving it; however my connection was running fine and I was the only one using internet.

Result: my matchmaking is no longer a 100% "S". Damn it...

    • Again, two main things:

      1. Servers mainly in Japan have to deal with cross-ocean traffic, different time zones meaning different amounts of traffic, so whenever the Japanese players are awake, they take priority thus take the most server space, leaving American and European players to pick up scraps. Sony, PlayStation, and Bandai continue to support PS3 servers less and less because the 4 has been out for 3 years.

      2. If you're not hosting, then always blame the host whenever you get disconnected. If you are hosting though, make sure you make lobbies 6 player 2 bot rooms, so there can still be "enough players to continue the match." If you want to complete missions as fast as possible so it won't disconnect, then host regular missions. Only host a HARD mission if you know your internet can make the game last longer, so you can destroy more targets and get more credits.

Unless I decide to host a game only among carefully chosen friends, I never host a match. The reason is actually very simple: ACI always gives me 2 connection bars (orange level) and as result people never see my room unless they have previously chosen to display all available rooms disreguarding the connection status.

I back out to title screen and go back in, until when I create a room I have blue bars

    • Interesting, whenever I try to connect the game says "Connection with ACI server has been interrupted". Is this happening to you too?

    • "interrupted"? It usually says "failed to upload information" or "lost connection to PlayStation Network" when you're trying to get to the menu from the title screen
