Vaslav Reynek, callsign Dama, was an ace pilot of the Estovakian Navy's 2nd Carrier Air Wing and leader of its 2nd Squadron. He primarily flew the F/A-18F Super Hornet.[2]

Dama played an active role in countless anti-ship, anti-ground, and patrol operations. He and his weapon systems officer were referred to as a "winning combination" as they set the standard for two-seat aircraft performance. He often boasted that he was never hit by enemy fire.[2]

Dama is one of the named aces hidden in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. He appears during "Gracemeria Patrol" on Expert difficulty or higher, and the player will unlock his livery for the F/A-18F upon shooting him down.

Etymology[]

"Dama" has different meanings depending on the language. It typically refers to the queen chess piece or to the game of checkers. This mirrors a line uttered by an Estovakian pilot during the start of the mission: "Checkmate, Emmeria."[3]

Also, "Dama" means playing card "Queen" in Russian.

Biography[]

Reynek was deployed to the frontlines Emmeria-Estovakia War since its onset. In September 2015, he took part in the Doypalm Bay Offensive, where he, alongside the P-1112 Aigaion and Strigon Team, played a key role in capturing the city of San Loma.[2]

On March 31, 2016, Emmeria liberated their capital and forced Estovakian leaders to negotiate a ceasefire and cede all captured territory.[4] Reynek joined General Gustav Dvornik and other Estovakian military personnel that opposed peace talks with Emmeria in plotting to use the Chandelier cruise missile system to retaliate.[5]

That evening, Reynek had an argument with his weapon systems officer. This argument resulted in Reynek going on sortie by himself for the first time. Tasked with reporting the damage to Gracemeria caused by the Chandelier's cruise missiles, he was ultimately shot down by Garuda Team during the battle.[3]
