Description
The XC-01 is a prototype aircraft seen in Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception. It appears in Joint Operation (before destroying Nevera Jammer) and Break In, before destroying the factories and stopping the A.L.C. They takes place over Monte Breeze.

History
The XC-01 is a transport aircraft used to deliver the M.B.S.R. to the former Aurelian Capital of Griswall. The M.S.B.R. is intended for to enhance the Meson cannon powered by the Gaiuss tower in the middle of the city. The XC-01's carrying the M.S.B.R.'s for Griswall were all shot down by Gryphus squadron over Monte Breeze. For defense, these XC-01's were escorted by fighters such as MiG-31 Foxhounds, Mirage 2000Ds, MiG-29A Fulcrums, and FB-22s.

Most of the other statistics and flight characteristics for the XC-01 are unknown, since it is an un-playable aircraft and only appears in one mission. However, the size and weight of its cargo undoubtedly makes it slow and an easy target. The XC-01 is very similar to the C-X, which is still being tested by Japan.

Trivia

  • Some players incorrectly believe the XC-01's laser weapon to be a Tactical Laser System. This is partially due to the MBSRs' existence not being fully explained if the player shoots down the transports rather than allowing the MBSRs to be transported to Griswall.
    • They also incorrectly believe that the XC-01 natively features the MBSR as its standard weapon. Rather, the transports were delivering the MBSRs to Griswall and the crews decided to use them to defend against the player.
  • Th XC-01 looks somewhat similar in design to the Kawasaki C-2. However, the prototypes of the C-2 (also designated XC-2) were not rolled out until 2007, a year after Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception released, and their first flight was not until 2010.
